Filestash Sharepoint Online Library connector plugin

Hello koltyakov,

Recently I discovered a tool called FileStash: https://www.filestash.app For my use case there are 2 connectors missing and one of them is a Sharepoint Online Library connector. I discovered your https://github.com/koltyakov/gosip and I think it could be a good fit to be used for this connector. The reason I guess is that Filestash package also includes an aws s3 connector making use of the aws-sdk-go Me myself I have good knowledge of sharepoint javascript coding but have no knowledge of Go(lang).

Would you be interested to get involved? Please let me know.

I took a brief look at some connectors and it doesn't seem too complex to create yet another one for SharePoint. But definitely more investigations required.

I'm wondering, what are your plans with that?

• Contributing to Filestash with a generic SPO Library connector to make the tool better with a condition the connector is in a Free plan?
• Just solving your needs and building your own binaries from a fork (you can't plug-in something external to Filestash server but to build your own version from sources - the server is a single binary and client-side assets and configs)?
• Collab with Filestash to provide the connector for Enterprise plan? I see the maintainer(s) considering paid plans (not sure is it a move from or to paid versions/service).
• Other ideas...

Are you going to cover only SPO? Or On-Prem as well? What auth flows are you considering?

If you can could you elaborate on your needs?

TBH, I am not getting/buying Filestash. I mean I can't see much room for the tool in my use cases, why would I prefer Filestash, but not opening SharePoint/OneDrive/Teams directly and getting much more options right out of the box. I'd understood if it was a file manager where you could connect to many destinations simultaneously and copy/move between them, etc. But so far I'm missing a business value.

Thanks for replying this quick.

• FileStash is a project of Mickael Kerjean so I cannot speak for him on his plans on the hosting service plans

• Adding a Sharepoint and Salesforce connector to Filestash is my initiative and would be included in the original (if Mickael approves) or a clone open source package I suggested to Mickael to use a fork for the development of the connectors so I don’t get in his way

• The package is (and should) also available as a public docker file

• The reason of my interest is that I work in a Salesforce / Sharepoint world where my focus is to add a generic library (S3 bucket, Sharepoint) to the Salesforce CRM.

• Are you going to cover only SPO? Or On-Prem as well?

  • SPO

• What auth flows are you considering?

  • Not sure which choices we have but we don’t want the user presenting a login screen
  • The connection is covering the authentication. FileStash itself is covering the permission setting on subfolder/file level

• If you can could you elaborate on your needs?

  • As mentioned my skills do not cover the needs to establish this job on my own
  • I also do not have any idea what kind of effort this will take

  • I can understand you looking at it from the microsoft perspective but as mentioned earlier I get quite a few scenarios where another platform (like Salesforce) is the main CRM/CMS but they lack a good document management system like Sharepoint.

  • “connect to many destinations simultaneously” is exactly what is does
  • “copy/move between them” is not something I tested yet (have to reply to that later) but would definitely be a good feature

• One thing I haven’t mentioned yet is that with FileStash you can plugin the OnlyOffice document editor so you can create/edit your documents from any storage container within FileStash Does the above clarify your questions? If not please reply.
