X Error of failed request: BadValue #171

I just compiled this from the AUR, and I got this error when trying to start: X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation). Notably, no config file was created.

Hello,

Unfortunately, there's too little context provided here for me to offer any meaningful help. The problem you're describing can vary from a driver issue to mishandling of window creation which is being caught on your particular system. The former I can do not much about, while the latter I cannot fix due to not having access to Linux machine anymore. If you're looking for a stable Quake 2 experience on a modern system, I strongly suggest trying a different source port or trying to run on a system that is confirmed to be working (Ubuntu in this case).
