New autoreconnect feature fails (hangs) if connection attempt fails #162

This is more significant than the resizing problem. If a connection
attempt fails on a site in autoreconnect mode, everything will hang at
that point until manually closed down. So, if you have a connection and
move into an area without one, autoreconnect will try once to reconnect,
fail, and everything will cease at that point.

Autreconnect should keep trying in such cases, though perhaps with a delay
(at least a minute? more? sliding backoff?) to avoid too much
thrashing. Another possibility would be to use one reconnect algorithm if
connection attempts were failing but a good signal was present, vs. the
situation when a signal is not present (so we know a connection attempt
right then would be useless).

Especially frustrating given issue 299 -> tunnel goes down; one reconnect
attempt fails; CPU ~85% (on evo4g froyo) forever after.

I have similar behavior with latest version of connectbot on DInc (latest
original Verizon 2.2 firmware , rooted).

For example, going down to subway (where mobile network is not available) and
then out, ConnectBot doesn't try to reconnect anymore when out of subway.
Connection is lost for good, unless I try to reconnect manually.

In cases where provider chooses to give your phone a "private" IP address (like
Verizon and most others), using ConnectBot to establish and maintain a VPN
tunnel with your chosen server (with reverse port forwarding) is one of the
only universal ways of connecting remotely to your phone. But only if a tunnel
is stable and reliable, i.e. can reconnect automatically when network
conditions change.

Great app! Just need to make it stable for background 24x7 service-like
operation.

Same thing here (Sidekick 4G) -- establishing tunnel with my home server, but
the tunnel goes down as the wireless signal goes down, and never reconnects
when the connection is back. Absolutely positively need a way to keep it up
whenever the connection is possible.

Bump: I have a WiFi-only tablet, and enter and leave hotspots continuously,
even on the train. Having to close the session and reopen is a pain; I've
missed emails and IMs because of this.

I use now ConnectBot over about 2 years. But having not reconnect automatically
working reliably is a pain!

Please finally fix this. How can I help with spending money to get this fixed
quickly?
