jesus christ theres a LOT of broken / outdated code, i tried the best i could haha; the rest that errors youll have to figure out yourself, because i tried and couldnt (because i suck)

bumped java to 1.8 and changed some code to go with it
updated basically all the dependencies

you should also think about putting this app in f-droid, would be great

If you want to contribute, specific patches with clear reasons for each change are welcome. I can't practically review this PR.

i look back on this now and it hurts to see how i did this lol; ill redo it in a much cleaner format
