My main problem with this game - it becomes a ZPG. Disease simulations are fun to watch, but methods of threating diseases aren't - player either can't help at all, or can treat available sympthoms and wait.
It is somewhat "realistic", but for a fun game there should be something else, and i don't know what it can be. Maybe it should be integrated to a larger game as additional mechanic, i don't know.
What about adding the gathering of relevant ingredients, researching new drugs and treatment methods , maybe even a 'social acceptance' meter (karma like) to show how much the current population trusts you (and will allow you try new methods on them)
Then diseases evolution can be added to counteract your new bonuses (via research and ingredient gathering) .
Oh, also maybe research how to counter spreading and play around with how to burn bodies , wash hands, sterilization , etc.. And without it more people get sick (and karma goes down)
I was really waiting to see what will happen with this, a shame you decided to leave it, but I can understand. Hoping for you to get back to it someday
