Which issue does this fix? Fixes #176

Functionality depends on #186

[ ] Tests are passing
[ ] Docs have been updated (if applicable)
[ ] Temporary settings (e.g. variables used during development and testing) have been reverted to defaults

If manual testing is required, what are the steps?

Once #186 is fixed - set node version to 17 (or 16) and test the build.
