A gperftools 2.2 release would be appreciated #616

Factoring in some time for an RC or two, it would be great to see a gperftools 
2.2 release sometime this summer. There have been some important bugs fixed in 
the past several months.

Agreed. There's now 2.2rc which will hopefully become 2.2 soon. Consider 
testing please.
