Time to freeze the code for internal 'release' #27

Congratulations! We have met the major primary objectives of the project: (1) reliable implementation of the MLR test and (2) GPU performance enhancements.

Once the p-value issue is resolved, it's time for us to set a 'freeze' on the code.

Liam - let's tie up any remaining small issues and cut a version for Ritu to evaluate at scale. We are in a great place and it's time to work towards the first release of the software and the manuscript.

Our primary goal will be bug fixes for the release.

Of course, you can continue to develop and add features (e.g., performance enhancements), but we will want to be controlled about commiting them. Some features may need to wait for commit until after the release.

Let's shoot for a code 'freeze' for an internal testing release by the end of the day December 26. That will give Ritu a chance to start testing the scaling next week.

A release was set (v.1.0.0) to coincide with the manuscript submission to bioRxiv and public release of the repository.
