cherry-pick from new_ui_code #722

This changes the setStyleSheet interface in cre.cpp, which will be used for implementing css menu in crereader.

EDIT: I am using master-dev branch because the master branch is frozen for stable release now. Will merge this branch back to master after release.

@houqp I didn't merge this because I thought you are revising this approach in the light of the recent conversation with @NuPogodi but if that is not the case, then please tell me and I'll test it and merge it.
