Hello again! As I've explained in the previous issue you opened on the same topic (https://github.com/kosua20/MIDIVisualizer/issues/141), MIDIVisualizer is currently not designed to play MIDI audio, only display the tracks with visual effects. Sound might be added at a later time but there is no schedule for it yet.
I've also noticed that you're a newcomer to Github, and would like to give a few pointers to help you interact with people here :
Many projects are maintained by one or two people on their free time ; that's my case for MIDIVisualizer. This started as a fun pet project for a friend in 2017. Along the way I've added many features and streamlined the release process to make MIDIVisualizer freely available to people who are not proficient with programming. I'm always happy when I get feedback from users, but it remains at heart a small personal project. I'm usually working on it once or twice a year, depending on my available time and other projects.
It's always a good idea to check the 'README' of a project on Github (on the Code tab, below the list of files). You can often find helpful information about the project, its features, limitations, and troubleshooting.
When creating an issue, make sure to read the infos provided by the developer. For instance, when creating a bug report for MIDIVisualizer, there is a pre-filled text where the second line is "Don't forget to check the troubleshooting section". The first item in the troubleshooting list is "MIDIVisualizer is not playing any sound: MIDIVisualizer is only a MIDI viewer, and does not currently support audio playback.".
When an issue is either fixed or a duplicate, it's closed (for instance, there is already a "sound" issue: https://github.com/kosua20/MIDIVisualizer/issues/61). Usually Github notifies you about it, but depending on your notification settings you might not receive an email when this happens. If there is a duplicate issue, it's usually best to add a comment on the existing issue instead of creating one, that way developers can more easily notice that many people are impacted.
I hope this will be helpful! Feel free to subscribe to the initial "sound" issue (https://github.com/kosua20/MIDIVisualizer/issues/61): usually if/when I'm adding a feature that people requested, I write a comment on the related issues so that people are aware of it 😃
oh ok sorry
Why is there no sound? I just downloaded it and was ready to see cool stuff but the sound won't work. Fix your thing.
