What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Installed Soundflower per instructions
2. Start an audio (iTunes song or streaming audio from internet)
3. Check the vu meter in System Preferences>Sound and note Soundflower is
selected with no sound
when I run Audacity nothing records (see second image below)
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected to see the vu meter going up and down. there is no indication of sound
input at all. However, I can hear the sound since the Output is directed to my
internal speakers. If I select soundflower as output I get no sound

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
The latest 1.6.2.1 Running on MacBook Pro 15, with Mac OSX 10.7.4

Please provide any additional information below.

I have the same problem, not using audacity, but I dont get audio sound with
these settings. Even when I adjust the volume with keyboard, i see the bar move
up and down but no sound is passing.

I dont know how it worked, but installing AU Labs application fixed the issue
for me and now soundflower will pass sound through the audio output. All I did
was install the AU Labs software, open it once and then set the audio input and
output to soundflower 2ch, and be sure built in output was selected in the
soundflower application and it worked.

Seems to have fixed the issue, AU Labs doesnt even have to be running.
