Hello 👋 Sorry to bother you about this but does anyone knows why there wasn't any review on this PR ? The code seems to get the idea on why step does not work on the library and fixes it. cc @albanm

I simply forgot, and now v2 is in low maintenance while v3 is in preparation. I will have a look soon.
