Chrome tab freezing and not showing NVR cards when HA menu is collapsed #25

Describe the bug When collapsing the HA menu NVR cards won't load and Chrome (macOS, current version) tab is freezing. No extensions, clean install, deleted caches and support files in file system, not even logged in with Google account. Works in current Firefox.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior: When HA menu is not collapsed and there are NVR cards on your dashboard, collapse the menu.

Expected behavior I expect the NVR cards to work when the HA menu is collapsed

Additional context Allow local access is checked in system settings for Google Chrome.

Now I disconnected from my local fibre and connected to 5G via my iPhone but same problem:

Same with Test-Site on 5G:

On Test-Site it doesn't even make a difference if the HA menu is collapsed or not. Might have to do with the Sequoia installation, don't know. But it's a PITA to set it up from scratch. Even more if it's in vain.

When I reopen my HA with a different URL other than the main dashboard everything is fine and if I expand the menu again I can even access the main dashboard with the NVR cards loaded correctly:

I use the AdGuard Home addon in HA, but I disabled it for testing purposes. I also use it on my phone.

Might using the HA Scrypted AddOn be a solution to that? Or is this way worse performance wise? I might be adding a second camera but that would be it.

feel like something else is going on if the demo site doesn't work correctly for you.

I asked a colleague to try the HA demo site with the most current Chrome on macOS (also different network) and it didn't work for him too (but he's still on Sonoma).

But it does work in Windows with latest Chrome for me and my colleague.

I did some tests with sections in HA today. This is how it turned out. If you're not in edit mode of your view everything's alright:

I started from scratch now with a completely new dashboard (also deleting my old ones) using sections. So far so good. Will report back if there are still any problems. Still curious why the demo site is not working for me though.

EDIT: Demo site is working now, at least the latest events. What did you change?

Oh no, it hangs again. No idea why it was working now for at least 30mins. I added a second view and then it stopped working in edit mode. Deleting the second view on the dashboard doesn't help.

Now I also got a freeze in Firefox:
