Tapo C210 Snapshot Failed #1121

Closed flowrex closed 1 year ago

Hello,

I am running Scrypted on MacOS and have successfully setup my Tapo C110 camera and this works perfectly in HKSV - thank you!

However, having setup my Tapo C210, all I am seeing is Snapshot Failed in both Scrypted and the Home app - I've never successfully got it working.

I have setup the username/password correctly in the Tapo app as I did with the C110 so am at a loss as to how to resolve this?

Screenshot 2023-10-08 at 23 46 43 Screenshot 2023-10-08 at 23 43 51

I can see a few RTSP Unauthorised errors in the console log but unsure which plugin these refer to? TapoC210ConsoleLog.txt

Would appreciate any help or pointers to resolving this issue.

Thank you.

Same here with the 0.57.0. @koush, this issue isn't close

Same problem here.
Any news on this ? The C210 is literally the camera recommanded to buy in the Scrypted Wiki Guide

Guys, I found the solution : When you setup your username/password in the Tapo App, DO NOT USE a password WITH SYMBOLS. Use a long password with only letters and numbers. Reboot the camera And you will see it on Scrypted.

I did as you recommended, and it didn't work, still says “Snapshot failed”

Did you resolve this?

Changing the password to one without special characters worked, just needed to restart everything and wait a couple of minutes to kick in without displaying Snapshot Failed message.

Thanks for this!

@koush Thank you for your fantastic work. I stumbled upon the same problem, could you please reopen the issue?

@koush Thank you for your fantastic work. I stumbled upon the same problem, could you please reopen the issue?

TP-Link support made custom beta firmware for me to try, I was able to get the c200 working with scrypted perfectly. The offical firmware update will be out soon.

And make the username and password simple letters and numbers, and turn off recording, and take out the sd card from the c500 when trying.

Do you know which version this will be? Also having same issue - although it has previously worked, but stopped in the last couple of weeks. User name and password fine, and only letters & numbers per above. Have deleted and re-added into Scrypted but issue still persists.

I'm having the exact same issue with the Tapo C100, both via ONVIF and RTSP plugins. I'm using the version 1.3.11 build 231121 of the firmware. (no special symbols on the password)

I setup "tapoadmin" as user and a 32 characters long password with only these [a-z][A-Z][0-9] characters.

All works fine!
