Check mobile UX #81

Open richchurcher opened 5 years ago

richchurcher commented 5 years ago

Do a pass over the whole app: how easy is it to read/use on a mobile device? Does it work even on small phones? What could we improve? Might need to check Semantic UI React's components and see which of them we could be using to make mobile user experience better.

Feel free to fix any issues with a PR. Share what you've learned with the rest of the team: how could we be doing mobile-first better?

Adding a note here: if you locate the ip address of your computer you can open the browser of your mobile device and use your computer's address (192.168.20.xxx:3000 (server) ) to preview it on your device.

Site does not appear to be user friendly on mobile at this stage. Text is very small, as are the menus and buttons. The browser (chrome and adblock plus browser) also cut the right side of the page off halfway through the login button with no scrolling possible to see the register button. The layout of the fish details page does not look very good on mobile either, with the images no longer aligning correctly, or at all really.

Some pages are not 'slow internet' friendly due to the image sizes.

If the connection is dropped then trying to go into any fish's details page will result in the last successfully loaded fish details page being displayed.

Also unable to get the far right of the menu to show on screen by requesting the desktop version or turning to landscape mode.
