zram instead of tmpfs for /dev #90

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

Would it be possible to use zram to create the devfs on /dev instead of using
tmpfs which uses more memory than zram.

Thanks!

This would be an awesome feature, and really useful for a possible project we
have coming up. Do you guys know if you have any plans to support something
like this in the future.

What's the special requirement for hosting devfs which zram lacks? I never
tried this myself.

Actually, I don't know. But zram module didn't create a device with a size on
by default when compiled into the kernel, which prevented it to be used before
devfs was mounted... I am not using a ramdisk with modules, perhaps that's a
requirement.

Seems like nothing to do here; closing the issue.
