Media Center is not responding - Android 7.1.2 #1135

I am running into an issue when opening SPMC with Android 7.1.2... any ideas on this?

InputDispatcher: Application is not responding: Window{a0729ce u0 Application Not Responding: com.semperpax.spmc16}. It has been 5005.9ms since event, 5005.6ms since wait started. Reason: Waiting to send non-key event because the touched window has not finished processing certain input events that were delivered to it over 500.0ms ago. Wait queue length: 50. Wait queue head age: 27689.8ms.

Tried all day to get SPMC 17.6a2 to function properly on an Android box running 7.1.2. As soon as a source was trying to play, SPMC failed and kicked me back to main Android screen. Running another Kodi fork and Kodi itself on same box with no issues. I know of people running SPMC 17.6a2 on Android 7.0.0 just fine.
