OK, I solved this by accident right after I posted it :) My bad. So, the trick is, I had to set the passthrough to "Android, IEC" rather than "Android, RAW" or "PCM". Once I set it to IEC, the "DTS Receiver" option appeared, and when I enabled that, my soundbar started receiving DTS audio (the DTS light lit up).
This is contrary to other guides I've read, that say that the SPMC passthrough setting should be set to Android, RAW.
Hi, I'm running the Krypton alpha version of SPMC on my FireTV 2. I just bought a Visio 5.1 soundbar (model 3651-E6) that has onboard Dolby Digital and DTS decoders. When I go to Audio settings in SPMC, I see an option for a Dolby Digital receiver, but I don't see any option for a DTS receiver; and when I play a movie with DTS audio, there's no indicator light on the soundbar as there would be for DTS. I have everything else set as recommended in the SPMC Audio settings regarding passthrough, sync to playback is disabled, etc etc (I'm familiar with those basic fixes/settings). Any ideas on what might be happening? It's as if the soundbar's DTS capability isn't being "detected" by SPMC.
The setup is: FireTV2 connected to my soundbar's HDMI "IN" port; soundbar connected to my LG TV via the soundbar's HDMI "OUT" port.
