Not keeping the "restart playing" state ... #146

Open LePousson opened 8 years ago

LePousson commented 8 years ago

Let me give you an example ...

When I play a movie, then stop it, put the shield on stand and then, the day after, when I want to resume the movie where I stopped, SPMC did not keep the time to resume the movie from ...

It is a bit annoying ... :((

All my database is stored on a MySQL server on my Linux box ...

Thanks ...

koying commented 8 years ago

Surely works for me. Is it systematic?

LePousson commented 8 years ago

Yes ... It is systematic ...

LePousson commented 8 years ago

I just realized that I'm switching off my shield while SPMC is still playing a movie ...

Could it be the reason of my problem ? (Note : I didn't have this problem with Kodi v16)

koying commented 8 years ago

What do you mean by "switch off"? How do you do that?

LePousson commented 8 years ago

I mean that I put the shield in standby mode (pressing the Triangle area on the shield OR the standby button on my universal remote) ...

koying commented 8 years ago

Just tested and it works for me via the "triangle", the position is correctly saved

LePousson commented 8 years ago

But I switch it off with an IR command around 99,9999999% of the time ... Should it be the cause of the problem ?

koying commented 8 years ago

No idea, I cannot test with IR myself. Try again with triangle to confirm it is actually an issue for you there...

LePousson commented 8 years ago

I tried with "Triangle" and it worked normally ...

I also tried to press STOP before STANDBY in IR mode ... It also worked normally...

Even if I found a workaround, why the hell pressing STANDBY while playing could prevent SPMC to write the resume time in the database ??

koying commented 8 years ago

It all depends what the remote way is actually doing. There are probably shortcuts or whatever, maybe a Shield bug, really... A logcat might tell more, I guess.

LePousson commented 8 years ago

logcat ??

Actually, I have the same problem on AFT2. Using 16.3.0 with no major issues, but this one is pretty annoying. I', am also using mysql database on my home NAS and last movie position when I stopped watching is not saved.

TweekDash commented 8 years ago

I just installed SPMC 16.3.0 on my AFTV1s rooted and am having the same issue.

I use SPMC 16.3.0 on 3 of my AFTVs linked to my NAS. I also use vanilla kodi on my PC (kodi 16.1) which i used to build the database in MySQL with my library. If I stop an episode on my PC it marks the episode correctly and is seen on the AFTVs. If I go in and finish that episode it never marks that episode as watched it keeps the Resume from X mins.

Had something changed within this version of SPMC reading the advancedsettings.xml? This is what I have always used with every version of SPMC and Kodi/XBMC and have never had an issue before this version. importwatchedstate true importwatchedstate

importresumepoint true importresumepoint

I'm not sure if you're checking on this @koying since you said it was working for you. Something interesting I noticed was I have multiple FireTVs both gen 1 both rooted with the same firmware and the same version of SPMC, also same advancedsettings.xml files and same sources files. One of the boxes marks the point in which you left off fine and the other does not.

I'm going to completely remove SPMC from all boxes and try to reinstall to see if I have any more luck that way.

EDIT: also movies seem to mark fine and resume but TV episodes do not
