I have the same problem. Using Shield 500Gb.
This happens to me too, on random videos. I have to stop the video and restart it.
For the first time the other evening, it also happened with a h264 file streamed over the internet. It does seem a purely random occurrence.
I see this on a Shield, too.
Yep, seen that also but haven't investigated yet. The fact that it is seemingly random doesn't help...
I run into this issue daily on Shield TV.
It happens almost every time if I jump from SPMC Live TV (DVB-C SD mpeg2 via Tvheadend, most likely interlaced) to YouTube Android TV app, watch some funny animal clips and then return back to the SPMC to watch Live TV.
The image starts to strobe with the TV feed and either black or (YouTube app related?) red solid frame in a rapid fashion. Stop and play fixes it every time.
Also having this issue. Similar to @BhwSyd I've only seen it with MPEG2 or MPEG4 videos/streams, usually when I'm watching PVR. Switching channels sometimes work, stop and play again works every time.
I've never seen this problem with Kodi, only SPMC. However, in Kodi, I randomly get a entirely green screen which is fixed by doing the same as with this issue. Coincidence?
This happens every now and again, and I have only seen it occur with MPEG2 and MPEG4 files using software ffmpeg decoding. They may also be all interlaced files.
A video is selected (17:31:01 in the log) and commences to play normally. About 4 seconds after the video has started, the screen begins to blink very rapidly, as though a blank screen is thrown in every second frame. I believe this occurs about 17:31:07 in the log at the time of the CPullupCorrection.
Stopping the video and selecting it to play again will usually result in the video playing normally. I cannot reproduce the error on demand. It just seems to occur randomly when starting MPEG2/4 files. No individual file appears more likely to trigger the blinking than any other. The same file will start and play normally but about 1 in 5 times or so, the blinking will kick in after about 4 seconds.
Note that I am using the latest build of XBMC for Minix on an x8-h plus.
