Amlogic S905 box and audio passthrough dropouts #465

I am getting audio dropouts every 10 seconds or so when playing back video files with DD 5.1 or DTS when set to passthrough. This usually starts a couple minutes into the video.

Tried all other possible combinations of settings and I either get PCM 2.0, no audio at all or no audio with reboot required to get it back.

I wish the hardware was capable of PCM 7.1 over HDMI so I didn't have to worry about passthrough.

Same problem on KODI and SPMC.

Basically hassle your seller for a Firmware update or return the device. This is not a SPMC problem.
