Believe me or not, I turned off the Adjust Display Refresh Rate in SPMC, played some movies in 23.976 and haven't noticed any stutter or judder, the motions in the movies were just perfectly smooth... My Shield HDMI resolution is set to 1080p 60Hz.
This could be because I just got a new receiver: a Pioneer VSX-90. It has 3 HDCP 2.2 HDMI ports. I find the Shield performs much better (especially with refresh rate changing) on the non-HDCP 2.2 enabled ports. (I'm running @ 1080p/60Hz).
Noticed the judder too since latest shoeld update, it can even unsync a bit a/v
Judder is happening for me after framerate change- didn't happen on 3.2. If I set "sync to display" I do not have access to bitstreaming, etc.
So to eliminate judder I have to set Nvidia Shield to correct refresh rate in control panel, then turn off switch refresh rate in SPMC setup.
