Issue is resolved now. It was on AVR side, 18 years old Sony STR-DB840 is not kompatible anymore to kodi/spmc..... My newer on STR-DN1010 is able to decode AC3 and DTS.
@mpiet1 Since i have a simular issue with my 2015 version Sony Android TV i was wondering what version of Android u have? Could u also elaborate on why an old receiver dat supports the DD en DTS standards no longer would live up to the task? These standards should be unchanged.
@mbooij, My Sony 2016 TV runs Android 6.0.1 I have no explantation, but i think i had same issue using Amazon FireTV Box Gen1. DTS output via optical output was OK, but AC3 not. Which AVR are you using? Before i was only using an very old DVD player, this was working also without any issue.
But the strange think is, that during playback via sony internal video player DTS and AC3 was always OK for my old AVR. Anyway in wanted a new AVR because of auto power up and volume control over TV remote.
Hello can you tell me how i can get DD and DTS both working. Have the XD498088 2016 Sony android.
Do you use optical or HDMI ARC?
@lukehansford, i am using HDMI ARC, but optical out works the same. Set in Sony TV audio setting output to "Auto 1". Then set in Kodi v16 or latest SPMC Speakers: 2.0 Passthroug: Enabled DTS: Enabled AC3: Enabled
In Kodi v17 you have to set DTS to disabled and activate AC3 transcoding.
Hi, i am looking for a workaround fix to get DD and DTS using Kodi/SPMC over the optical output. The sony video app is able to give DTS and DD out.
Using the new release 16.5.1 DTS is working, but not DD AC3.
I created also a thread in kodi forum: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=298273&pid=2473810#pid2473810 There is a workaround, that transcode AC3 and DTS to AC3 384kb/s Workaround release of Kody v17 beta can be found here: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=290439&page=4
I am looking to activate the new SPMC feature: ADD: Limit AC3 encoder to 384kb/s with Quality < High
How can i activate it? Is it already activated but now working?
