Shield TV HDR Playback #659

Hi @koying will you be able to add HDR playback using surface in SPMC? HDR plays back correctly on my TV on Kodi 17 so its just issue with SPMC. My TV does not get HDR metadata when playing back HDR files on SPMC so never activates HDR mode. On Kodi it works fine.

? Works for me. Sure you are in Surface?

yup surface is only option ticked. il reboot my shield and re try when im back home later. im using mp4 file to test with.

nope still not working. im running 6.5.5, got only adjust refresh rate checked and surface codec checked. what settings are you using? @koying

Nothing special, just be sure the Shield is in 4K. Please post a log

@nekromantik be sure that you have "adjust refresh rate" unchecked. For me it only works wir the setting:

4k@60HZ adjust refresh rate: unchecked surface codec: checked

Same for me - "auto adjust refresh rate" has to be off for HDR to work.

SPMC (16.5.5) on Shield kept crashing when I started a HDR movie file each time I tried different settings
