Yadif2x Out of Sync #689

Hello,

One of the main reasons I use SPMC is to play DVD images. I much prefer it to the obvious competition because it has many more options for deinterlacing on the android builds. I would ideally like to use Yadif2x.

When I run it on the android 16.4.2 (I am limited to that version on my Kdlinks a300), the picture looks much better than any other deinterlacer, but it quickly loses sync.

I was hoping that someone who has tested a faster box and/or a newer build could comment as to whether this mode works for them on DVD images. I'd be happy to upgrade my hardware (and thus, SPMC), but this is the only issue I have at the moment, so I'm hoping to get an idea of whether this will be improved by an upgrade.

Thank you (apologies if asking about an old build was not a proper thing to do here)

Last time I checked, Koying has gone the conservative route and only implemented Half motion deinterlacing by default instead of YADIF2X / full motion for mpeg2 DVD's.

You need a half decent CPU to do both mpeg2 Software decoding and YADIF2X Software deinterlacing. A 1.5GHz AMLogic S905 box as an example works fine.

To fix...

1) in Kodi settings > mpeg2 Hardware decoding to HD and UP 2) start playing interlaced mpeg2 ie DVD. 3) Pull up the OSD > Video settings 4) Toggle the Deinterlacing Methods till you find YADIF2X 5) Set as Default for all Videos (down the bottom) 6) Popcorn & beer time !

Job Done. W.
