Auto adjust refresh rate not working. #912

I've gone back to my Nvidia Shield TV to try and get it working properly. I have a Pansonic 4k TV and Denon 4k receiver and SPMC 16.6 Everything is working including bitstreaming of Atmos audio except I just can't get the auto adjust refresh rate to work at all, it just stays at the default 60 hz. I have it set to start/stop and delay of 3 seconds (tried other settings too) but it never changes, is there anything I'm missing, do I need to look at a logfile? Thanks for any help, this is the only missing piece for me.

Denon has some problems with adjust of the refresh rate. I have for a example 7 sec. You also can try to restart your nvidia shield. Sometimes the handshaking is broken.

Thanks for the response Nerto. I've tried adjusting the delay but still can't get it to change. Note: if I plug the Nvidia straight into the TV it still does not change the refresh rate, it stays at the default. Could it be an HDMI cable issue?

The Amlogic S905 ect have a problem with framerate not changing installing "AutoFrameFix.apk" with root and supersu fixes the problem, but i know you have an nvidia so unless it works on other brands.

The second is another fix ""script.video.fswitch-2.0.4.zip" i have not tried it.

What other program is best to test with? I have tried with Kodi v17, but same issue. Video settings in SPMC are - Refresh start/stop 3.5 sec delay. Sync playback to display off. Acceleration all on.

Nerto commented 7 years ago

Set delay for test to 6 or something and try to turn all Acceleration off ? Have u try an other device like a bluray player?

egtrev commented 7 years ago

I've tried various delay from 0-10 and turned the accelaration off, but still no change happens.

Yes, my other devices and players automatically change fine.

Has the new update for the shield changes anything?

HDMI 1.4 works fine. You need to go to SPMC System, Settings, Video, Playback, Adjust display refresh rate On start/stop. Set Pause during refresh rate change to 13.0 seconds or more depending on your receiver. Mine is the Onkyo 747 with HDCP input 3.
