I actually like that. That would be great for a gtk4 version of the app. Unfortunately the software is dead for now.
@jannuary, I’m not the original author, but I’d like to play with this idea in my fork. However, I’m not very much up-to-date with the current GNOME HIG and technologies in general, so I will need help if you can provide it 🙂
FYI this project is completely dead : Except for https://github.com/kozec/syncthing-gtk/commit/01eeeb9ed485232e145bf39d90142832e1c9751e, the last commit that touches something else than translation dates from nov 2019. There's a "kinda fork" on the Debian repository : https://salsa.debian.org/debian/syncthing-gtk/ It, among other fixes, uses python3 instead of python2 (that this repository still uses).
EDIT : Hah after re-reading the python 3 support thread I realized you're the maintainer of this fork actually.
Seeing your argument about the http stack, I guess the best to do is to rewrite the app from scratch if the goal is to use gtk4.
Hello! This is a quick mockup of a potential Syncthing-GTK redesign that puts it more in line with modern, adaptive GNOME apps. Let me know your thoughts and whether you'd like to pursue that direction for the app.
