Food stocking

Is it worth mentioning that: If the organiser is on a budget then {

• First meal is always the one that need biggest £s
• Breakfast can be very cheap and still be a quality; tesco breakfast for example :) }
• Last meal preferably be something that is grabbable

Drinks restocking:

• Coffee gets consumed by high numbers between the hours of 6pm-2am. Other drinks becomes more popular after 12am. Coffee is again popular in the morning hours of second day. It is nice to keep your drinks diversified by scheduling times to dispatch some sort of type of drinks; e.g. fizzy drinks and water around lunch - dinner time, then gets the energy and coffee out and so on.
  Because even if you buy 5000L (SH T_T) of drinks people will open bottles and leave them, if they see there are small numbers being dispatched they are less likely to waste them

1. When you say first meal, lets assume for a 24hr hackathon beginning Saturday morning. The first meal is for lunch on Saturday?
2. Last meal grabbable, any particular reason?
3. The last one seems to have variable behavior. For HL we didn't have the wasted bottles issue. @Caramelle what was HtB like for that?

1. I think I should have rephrased it, not necessarily the most expensive but definitely the biggest order.
2. If the last meal is before end of teh hackathon most hackers would prefer to spend w/e time left to fix that one (or 100) bugs, if it is after and before presentations you don't want them to sit around doing nothing, grabbing a lunch and going to presentations is really clean way to deal with it.
3. HL was deploying small quantity of drinks, so did Htb, however I have seen some wasted bottles for HtB just not an alarming number.

We did only display a small number of drinks on the snacks counter for HTB, so that helped people be more careful with their bottles.

Worth adding, if the venue has drinking water points, attendees can reuse their water bottles to minimise waste. This should be mentioned with all the housekeeping stuff in the beginning and included in the help pack, so everyone is aware of them.
