Sticky pose blending issue on macOS #241

I've been trying to use studio library with maya 2018 and 2019 on a MacBook pro with a wacom bamboo tablet. I've used studio library for years without issue but I am getting a frustrating problem where my pointer "won't let go". once I click on an icon I can't "let go" of it. I end up highlighting everything my pointer goes over. If i middle mouse try to drag on an icon to fail in a shape, it also won't let go. It's driving me mental. I hope there is a solution to this... I'm using version 2.4.15

Hi Kurt

There are no errors of any kind while this is happening. interestingly when this happens it also deselects my controls and also turns off auto key. It is driving me crazy quite honestly and definitely slowing down my workflow.

Hopefully there is an answer to this problem.

Unfortunately, I still cannot recreate the issue which is making it hard to debug.

Does this also happen when you're using a mouse or is it just when you're using the Wacom tablet?

thanks for responding. I'm on a MacBook pro, not using a mouse. it happens if I am using the trackpad or if I am using my wacom tablet.

in maya 2016 with version 1.32.0 of studio library the problem doesn't exist. but it does with maya 2018 and 2019 with version 2.4.15

so painful to use now and seeing as how I am seeing paid by the frame, the slowdown is costing me real money. I wish there was a solution. I was hoping someone else had come across the same issue.

Hey Allen,

Sorry, I have looked at this again and I'm still unable to recreate the issue.

Do you still have the issue when you zoom out to "List view"? To get to list view you can middle mouse button scroll or you can use the slider under "Settings > Item view > Size".

Let me know how that goes.

Thanks for trying. maybe it's just a combination of my hardware, version of maya, version of studio library, wacom tablet. It's just weird that it never used to be an issue until the start of this project. I'll just have to live with it I suppose.

I can confirm the same issue.

Every time I try to blend a pose there is some serious hang once I let go of the controller.

Once I blend again with the same clip - either up or down - the controls become deselected and Studio Library sends and error pop up "No objects match when loading data. Turn on debug mode to see more details."

If I click - no drag - on a blend up and down it will still hang, but will never deselect.

Maya 2019 Tested on Studio Library 2.4.15 and 2.5.3 Minimal other plugins here (ask if you would like more specifics).

Not sure if this is the same issue as @animatorMan but I have pushed a change to master (version 2.5.4) which will hopefully fix your issue.

Please click on the green "Clone or download" button from the following link to get version 2.5.4.

Hey Kurt,

The deselection during multiple blends is fixed, but the hanging/locking after blend is still there.

Just letting you know that I can now recreate this issue.

I have now tested the following and it seems to be only an issue with OSX and a Wacom.

Hopefully, I can fix this issue over the next day or two.

Hi,

So, I had another look this morning and noticed that this is happening while dragging with the middle mouse button using a mouse or a Wacom on OSX. The blend slider in the preview panel seems to work fine.

Can you also confirm using Studio Library version 2.5.4+ that this is only happening while dragging with the middle mouse button and not an issue with the slider in the preview panel?

The other thing I have found is that this also happens in a vanilla Maya on OSX when I was trying to drag values in the Maya Channel box which is different behavior to Maya on Linux and Windows. Have you also noticed this?

I have already tried fixing this without any success, so I will need more time as there is no easy solution at the moment.

It's not just with the middle mouse button for me. It also happens when using the blend slider. I haven't come across the maya channel box thing you mentioned.
