Touchpad issue with dual boot #178

When running latest Montery as standalone installation everything is fine. When dual booting Win10, touchpad will not be recognized in MacOS after hot reboot. You need a cold reboot, press F12 and boot Opencore from Bios boot menu for getting it going again. Must be related to ACPI but didn't manage to figure it out in my own. XPS 9550, 16gig, 512gig Samsung 960 pro, Full HD

Thank you for this nice EFI.

i cant confirm this, i have this exact setup on two different 9550 machines and it works as intended. Do you use a special driver? As i have absolutely no experience with windows machines, i cant help you with this

Thanks for your answer. No, i'm using the EFI "as is". It's really weird. Today i had to reboot three times to get the Touchpad going. No matter if i booted from opencore or bios, it did not work. On Windows it just works.

I can confirm the touchpad becoming non-responsive with a dual-boot (Windows setup). While I was single boot everything would go swimmingly. After setting up dual boot the touchpad would be unresponsive roughly 50% of the time upon Mac OS boot up. Doing a hard restart would remedy the issue. If the touchpad works upon bootup Ive noticed that the touchpad's functionality remains good even after putting Mac OS to sleep (ie closing the lid). BT and USB mouse/pointer are unaffected.

I just installed Monterey as the only OS, and I had Touchpad and keyboard issues too. When I was muti booting I had issues but were not often. I restart will fix them. They were random and not often. Nothing to be concerned. OpenCore has many guides about fixing issues post-install https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Post-Install/#how-to-follow-this-guide
