I'd not heard of mopidy before - looks cool. :-)

I think it's probably sufficiently different that it warrant a separate package though. Have you any interest in writing helm-mopidy?

Yeah, I do. I guess it might make sense to query spotify through mopidy if possible in such a plugin, in which case none of this code can really be reused, so you are probably right that it belongs somewhere else.
