would like a gap flag in subdaily spline output. #282

now the code writes nothing for splines when there is a large gap. can you add a request to write out a dummy value like 999?

also can you write a line to the header that reminds people the timetags are in UTC?

this has been added to version 3.4.0, -gap_flag. it uses 999. if you don't like that number, pls suggest another.
