Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Entering a name for a new contact that is identical to an existing contact

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Ideally some kind of error message preventing me from creating the duplicate
contact.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? With
what Salesforce.com edition?
Excel 2007 on Windows XP, SalesForce Enterprise Edition

Please provide any additional information below.
More of a suggestion than a defect.

I'm not knowledgable on dupcatcher, does it install a trigger ?
It appears that dupcatcher is not catching duplicate names, perhaps it uses
email addresses or a visualforce page which is not catching API inserts.

in any event this is not an issue with the Excel connector, no changes that I
make could cause Dupcatcher to work better than it does in this case.

Thank you, I've researched further and the application does not cover entries
created this way.
