How to get rid of all clues to what the hanzi looks like on the “front” of the card? #59

Ringotan was the single most effective tool for my Japanese, and I want to replicate that, where I hear the word (maybe with pinyin—but I don't think English definitions are necessary since homophones are not the problem that they are in Japanese) and I have to recall what the character looks like from memory.

I’ve never tried editing card templates and I don’t know if this is possible there. I just tried removing the characters manually from the front of my cards only to see doing so made the drawing section disappear entirely.

I thought to add: I know the settings inside the card let you swap these things, but I still ruin the first card I open before inputting these settings, because I see it all right away (and lose the chance to recall the character from memory) — and I will often be opening the deck with just a card or two waiting.

I also confirmed it is NOT possible to try to work this out from the custom template guide in the blog because this link containing the handwriting component: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/krmanik/Anki-xiehanzi/master/Versions/Version%201.8/writing.component.html is broken.

The text that was in that page, however, is displayed in the video guide below. It's scrolled over, backwards, and very quickly, and there's a ton of code, so I even considered trying to copy it manually but wow is that an incredible pain (if it scrolled slower and from top to bottom it might be less miserable).
