Some user's RSS feed might be broken sometimes? #32

Scott G. got the following message:

Hi Scott,

Just in case it'll be useful for you to know: your RSS feed on GreaterWrong seems to stop working every now and then, since October 30th. It's weird because I'm "subscribed" to lots of GreaterWrong user feeds (via IFTTT), and yours is the only one that has this problem. (The IFTTT applet that is associated with your feed keeps turning off).

Cheers, Ofer

Maybe the problem is on the LW end, not sure. But figured I would let you know.

It looks like this RSS feed has been working normally, but it's far bigger than usual - over 6 MB while most feeds are under 100 KB. Most of that is MathJax markup, which I'm not sure even renders properly in any RSS reader, so stripping out MathJax from RSS feeds might be a solution.

Interesting. MathJax markup does actually work just fine in my RSS reader (and even Gmail!), so I would prefer to leave it in. I guess maybe we can truncate after a certain document size and insert some kind of read more?
