"Keep alive awake" checkbox #989

I see that default value is "disabled".
I have tested, my phone sends keep-alives only when screen is unlocked or this
checkmark is enabled.

I vote for enabling it by default.

Samsung Spica, Froyo.
Thank you.

Yes, I don't know yet what should be the good solution for that. It depends on
the device (as most of the time).

In fact I introduced that just to test. Android 2.3.4 OS seems to do a complete
re-scan of all wifi networks each time the alarm of the keep alive arrive on
3g. This drain the battery really fast.
Besides on 2.3.4 I didn't see any difference between alive or not alive except
this one about wifi scans.

Previously it was always awake keep alive. I just did tests with the not awake
mode. But if you say it introduce regression in 2.2 you're right, should be
enabled by default :)
