"®" mark is unreadable in EB Garamond #190

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. It shows when I use the ® mark on my website
2. It is just too small
3. Nobody can read it

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Even if you bold it you should be able to see what it is. At this point it
looks like a blob.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
The latest

Please provide any additional information below.
I know this is a free font but I think you would want to know about this issue.
I think since we and many other will be using this font mostly on Business
sites the ® should be legible.

There are two forms of ® mark in fonts the ones have a superscript one, the
others a more or less “full sized” one, floating above the base line. I
agree with you, that the superscript one is too small for the way it is used on
many sites, so I added a full sized one at the slot of ® and pushed the old
one to registered.sups, accessible via sups feature. What’s more, you might
consider to use EBGaramond08 for smaller sizes. EBGaramond12 is designed for
use at 12pt in print, so on screen below 16px it might not look fine.
