Screen thirds + Github #44

Hey Guys,

great simple app!

Just wanted to say that I organize my source windows in vertical screen thirds,
not halves. So, having the ability to define the subdivision level would be
great. (30" screens get hard to manage with a mouse, but dont warrant using
half or even a quarter of the screen on one thing. And how to toggle between
each one? Well i'd make the same hotkey cycle between each of the positions
(basically moves to the next one if the window frame was at the last position.

Anyway, i'd build this functionality in for you, but I really really dislike
svn. If you guys setup a github branch in addition, i'd definitely send you
pull requests =D, sorry to be a snob, but we all have our preferences too.

Cheers!

Juan

has there been any progress, or plans to progress, towards screen thirds? i'd
certainly benefit from this feature as well.

I'd be interested in this feature as well. On larger monitors I find that I
like to keep my main application on the right two-thirds of the screen and a
secondary application on the left one-third of the screen.

Right now I have to hit the key to put them in halves then resize them each
time. I'd rather just do one-third or two-third with a single key combination
(or even set it up that command+alt+left is left at one-third size and
command+alt+right is right two-thirds size).

There is a fork of this project that is under active development (unlike this
google code project, last edit May 2010) at https://github.com/fikovnik/ShiftIt

The version on Github is a couple of years newer now and will likely solve this
issue
