Fixed dependencies install and local development workflow, updated the readme #5

I like to work in virtual environments for python projects to avoid conflicts. Also think pip install from a requirements file makes the install process more predictable. See readme for details.

I kept the old readme as README_old.md in case you want to refer back to it at any point
