This is in purpose.
Because we never need to see what the END
of a block has been written; but what written in BEGIN
is significant because it contains language/setting for LaTeX ...etc, and it should be in a distinguishing color that can be found in a glance of buffer.
Blocks will make the document looks a little mess if END
has the same color of BEGIN
. If you like, you can try it out.
I am using moe-dark theme on org-mode. But I found "#+BEGIN_SRC" and "#+END_SRC" are in different color and the later one can be barely seen
