Wordpress tutorial does not work with newer image versions #461

Hi, I am trying to run the tutorial https://kubernetes.io/docs/tutorials/stateful-application/mysql-wordpress-persistent-volume/ with a newer version of Wordpress or MySQL, but it always fails with the error message "Error establishing a database connection". I tried to use wordpress:6.1-apache with mysql:8.0, but also wordpress:6.1-apache with mysql:5.6 or wordpress:4.8-apache with mysql:8.0, but none works except the combination in the tutorial wordpress:4.8-apache and mysql:5.6. As MySQL 5.6 has already reached the end of support, I do not want to base my website on it. I could not find any information related to incompatibilities between these versions, so I am curious what needs to be changed to make it work.
