I'm not at the computer right now, but I'll give the CRC/MD5 and all later
today.

Strange... Mario 64 works rather well with Rice. My laptop is a similar
configuration with Debian Etch and an NV30 (though mobile) card, and has no
issues
in the game. I highly suspect that this is a video driver issue or possibly a
compilation, Rice settings, or bad rom issue.

First, I highly suggest upgrading to the latest Nvidia drivers if you haven't
already. Then why not try the 32-bit binary provided just to rule out the
issue? It
worked fine in Debian for me.

If nothing changes, please give the ROM MD5 (run mupen from the console and it
will
tell you) just to double check it isn't a bad ROM.

Finally, please clarify if this is with all ROMs or just Mario64? What OpenGL
Combiner for Rice are you using (I'd recommend trying the GUI version and
getting
this from the Rice config dialogue)? Your card may require one of the Nvidia
specific combiners, though mine did not.

If all else fails, did you try Glide64? I get the best visuals in Mario64 with
this
plugin on all of my machines (regardless of driver - nvidia, fglrx, or radeon).

What's weird to me is, in a Window, it looks fine.

I tried recompiling without the NOGUI option, and just did LIRC - this is for a
computer I'm setting up as a media center PC, so I really want LIRC support.

ROM: 'SUPER MARIO 64'

I went ahead and tried Glide64, and it works really well - I was hoping to get
high-res texture support, but this works fine.

Nobody else has reported this issue, and you seem to be satisfied with using
Glide64,
so I'll mark this issue closed.
