Perfect Dark video issues #120

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
System:
 - SimplyMepis 7
 - 32-bit
 - Mupen64Plus version: 1.4
 - Plugins used: gln64 0.4.1, JttL's SDL Audio 1.4

Describe the problem:
In Perfect Dark, in the menu and the sky in outdoor levels like Carrington
Villa, the screen doesn't exactly refresh after moving so it looks kind of
like when you spread out a deck of cards and they are all overlapping.
It's difficult to explain, but here are a couple screenshots of it:

Please try running with the --noosd option and see if the problem still remains.

Okay it took some bug fixing to make Perfect Dark run without crashing in glN64
on my
64-bit system, but I also verified these artifacts. Running with --noosd did
not
remove the artifacts. I also tested with other plugins. Under Glide64 it was
unplayable -- everything except the gun was black. But this game works well
under
Rice Video, which displayed the sky correctly. I would recommend using Rice
Video
instead of glN64 for this game.

Yes, I have used the Rice plugin, but it doesn't work too well on my main
system.
The video is choppy and the audio isn't good. But it's not really an issue..
