Dpad doesn't work #122

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Describe your system:
 - Linux distribution: Debian testing
 - Machine type: 64-bit
 - Mupen64Plus version: 1.4
 - Plugins used: blight's input

Describe the problem:
The DPad doesn't work with the keyboard. I can map keys for the dpad in the
configuration but they don't work in-game. I've tried a few keys, same
thing. All the other mapping work well.

Your config runs just fine over here, although I must admit the bindings are
quite
confusing. Have you tried deleting ~/.mupen64plus/blight_input.conf to reset to
defaults?

Yes, I've done it several times. I also tried to run mupen64plus with the root
user
(so with a fresh ~/.mupen64plus directory) and it still doesn't work!

The basic plugin dpad works well but it can't find start button (quite
annoying).

Should I try with another computer?

Hmm... think this is a user error. You should assign the stick to the arrow
keys,
not the Dpad. In many games the Dpad is not a digital stick, but something else.

I just tested the 64-bit build of SVN rev 1243, and I was able to assign the
arrow
keys to the D-pad, and tested with the spin menu in Ms. Pac-man. Please test
with
the latest SVN build and re-open this issue report if this problem persists on
your
system.
