Apache does not start

In 1 PC out of 10 Apache was not able to start.
The main difference between this PC and others is that it has been
reinstalled from the scratch and not activated yet.

To solve the missed Apache problem I had to cut and paste the php5ts.dll
file from PAMPA/php.32 directory to PAMPA/apache.32/bin

After doing this, everything worked as expected (the module could not find
the php dll) but if this problem still persist, please tell me if Apache
does not start even after copying the php5ts.dll file into
C:\WINDOWS\System32 folder, thank you

i've tried under windows 2000, apache didn't start; i've copied  the php5ts.dll 
file
into C:\WINDOWS\System32 folder; didn't work neither

when i tried "manually" to start apache, i've got this:
P:\>D:\pampa\PAMPA\apache.32\bin\httpd.exe -f D:\pampa\PAMPA\config\httpd.conf -
k start
no listening sockets available, shutting down
Unable to open logs

do you see a way to make it work?

Please set debug=true in PAMPA/config/pampa.ini file, then launch PAMPA and, 
after it
has created debug apache.bat file into main directory, close it.
At that point double click on dos.bat, which contain a call to cmd to be in 
prompt,
then write apache and tell me which error you receive.

I would like to remind that PAMPA is completely stand alone and path portable, 
so you
cannot emulate manually used strings to start up its processes, strings showed 
when
debug variable is true for each required process.

I m unable to start the PAMPA ---Failed to connect -- Firefox can't establish a
connection to the server at 127.0.0.1:85.

I followed your debugging process and i get this error:
C:\>httpd.exe: Syntax error in -C/-c directive: Cannot load
C:/PAMPA/php.32/php5apache2_2.dll into server: This application has failed to 
start
because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the 
application may
fix this problem.

Any ideas?

To be honest that's what I was thinking the problem might be, but I never 
received a
prompt to unlock apache only for mysql i think.

To eliminate this possibility i disabled the firewall but still i get the same
problem....

I am in the same configuration and I have no problems at all.
It is really difficult to understand what is going there since 80% of Pampa 
users had
no problems with XP SP3.
Please download again the full archive, unpack in the Desktop (a different 
folder)
and try to launch PAMPA.exe.
If you still have problems, try to change Apache and MySQL ports (89 for 
Apache, 3309
for MySQL) and tell me if something happen ... thank you

I have the same problem with 'failed to connect'. I tried to change apache port,
disable php, mysql and ajax, disable firewall without success. Tested 5 PC: 3 
with
XPProSP3 (it works), 2 netbooks with XPHomeSP3 (it does not work). Maybe is it a
XPHome problem?

Actually only problems I know is with XP Home Edition ... but at the same time 
it
works in one XP SP3 Home Edition I have tried recently.

Can you pelase try to copy both php5apache2_2.dll and php5ts.dll into System32
folder? I guess that is the problem

Please, before you copyt there, try to copy both php5ts.dll and 
php5apache2_2.dll
into PAMPA/apache.32/bin folder and let me know if this solved the problem.

unfortunately, apache connection still fail.
Copied php5ts.dll and php5apache2_2.dll in PAMPA/apache.32/bin and restarted, 
then
copied in System32 folder and restarted but without success

is the error always the same? is there any firewall? can you create a new 
Window User
and try there to launch the application? If you change the port it could be a
conflict, if it does not find the file you need to check the used string 
because if
path is correct there is something wrong in Apache (at this point).
More information you give me, quicker will be the fix. Thanks everybody for help

in PAMPA root, if you set debug=true in pampa.ini file inside config folder, you
should find some .bat file. Right click on apache.bat and edit to read the used

ok, far enough ... now, can you pelase edit that file and change

into

and try to launch directly that file via double click?

edited and launched, cmd window closes immediately and when I call 127.0.0.1:85 
I get
again the connection failed error

well, create a dos.bat file and write inside cmd and save it. double click to 
be in
that folder. write in the console apache and press return so it will not close 
the
shell ... and tell me the error message, if any.
In the meanwhile I tried here in a XP Home SP3 PC and everything is ok ...

Here is the error:

apache.32/bin/php5apache2_2.dll into server: Impossibile avviare l'applicazione
specificata. La configurazione dell'applicazione non \xe8 corretta. Una nuova in
stallazione dell'applicazione potrebbe risolvere il problema.

I double checked, the file php5apache2_2.dll exists in that directory...

Ok, apparently is a common problem with that dll and Windows XP Home.
As last try, you could download the latest version from
http://windows.php.net/snapshots/
version VC9 thread safe PHP 5.3
http://windows.php.net/downloads/snaps/php-5.3-win32-VC9-x86-latest.zip
copy the latest php5apache2_2.dll from that zip into PAMPA and overwrite other 
one
(be sure you overwrite every place where you put that dll)

I have the same problem. I work all day to try to resolve but nothing.
I Think that this problem is issued to Windos XP SP3 (my be the firewall), but 
I try
to disable any protection but PAMPA do not run jet.

The problem is that the HTTPD process will be terminate immediatly: PAMPA e 
MYSQL run
correctly, but without Apache.

folder, wherever you want, and to unpack the self-extracting archive into that 
folder. After that, double click on the PAMPA executable, unblock Apache, Jaxer

I too can't run Pampa-j and I too got the same messages; but I simply felt 
myself so ignorant that I presumed to be the only one to have this problem. So 
I discovered an old Pampa 0.6 version into an old forgotten folder and... it 
runs heppily nto the same PC and into the same OS obviously. 

But, precisely, what means "unblock Apache, Jaxer and MySql if necessary" (yes, 
it seems necessary...) into the sentence I copied from the main page of the 
project?

hi my name is vinay web developer at toolsacademy.net
i was able to find a solution to overcome the compatible issues with pampa-j.

here is the procedure.

1. please download the zip file of php-5.4.9-win32-vc9-x86.
2. if you had upgraded the pampa to pampa php 5.4.0 alpha 2.
3. in pampa folder go to apache32./bin/ then  libeay32.dll, php5ts.dll, 
ssleay32.dll .... find these files and replace these files with newer version 
present in 5.4.9 downloaded files.
4. then php32 folder replace complete ext folder with the newer version from 
downloaded files and also find php5apache2_2.dll and replace with newer version 
from php-5.4.9.
5. now restart the pampa server it runs fine in both xp sp3 and in win7.

I worked fine with pampa on winXP,
until I formatted my computer;
after that, pampa did not work anymore,
httpd was not able to start;
after many attempts, 
I found a solution:
I installed .NET framework 2.0
and pampa worked again!
