Would it be easier to combine pre-reg and attendee search screens, and just have a single window with attendee information and a big "check in" button?
One problem at con was people checking in attendees by selecting the "checked in" checkbox from the search screen, which leaves out some business logic like adding an entry to history. (Though it did still set the check in time on the attendee)
