Only edge points are used with SIFT, similar edge points are grouped together. SIFT modified for vehicle tracking. Feature descriptor characterizes the points environment, suitable to estimate which part it is. Implicit shape model: only bag of SIFT points. Explicit shape model: location of SIFT points is given as mixture of Gaussians. (Also for classification.)
