Hi Jan Jacob,
It took me a while to figure out, but the solution looks to solve the whole class of bugs for number formatting, not just for the Spinner components. Hopefully this should fix this once and for all. I have tested locally by forcing Blue to use the de locale, and could reproduce the bug. After the change, I am getting decimals instead of commas.
Could you verify using this build:
http://www.kunstmusik.com/blue_OSX_2.5.6.zip
(It still says 2.5.6, but it is the updated version for 2.5.7)
Thanks! steven
Dear Steven,
thanks a lot for investigating on that. I am afraid I can not test the new version right now as I am still on OS 10.6 on my computer and no version beyond blue 2.5.0 seems to run because of Java-Update reasons. It is rather that other programmes and hardware will not run on OS 10.7 or 10.8 than anything else that keeps me from updating. I will have to wait until I have the money to replace what is not running then. Lately one of my harddisks blew out its mind for good (no dataloss at all, do not worry). I made a partition onto the new one to set up a linux system there in the future but have not found the time to do so yet. So I guess the bugfix is for future times as far it concerns me. But maybe Menno could give it a try? Hasn't he been using Jmask too? Or would it help to get linux running now?
One more thing: If you do replace/ reorganize larger components: Would it now be possible to add the prec- value (precision) in random-components and bpf too? I do sometimes miss it... but I do not want to ask for too much.
I am right now working out sounds for an installation. Since we met I have been reorganizing my environment to that modular approach I was talking about and it works very well. I will send you the whole environment with its set of instruments soon (when the sound generating instrument collection is well populated too). Maybe it'll be interesting for you, who knows, maybe you can get something out of it.
By chance I found out, that the API (live-sounds) works fine now along with 2.5.0 and Csound 5.19. It is really great, just a bliss!!! Thanks a lot!
All the best,
Jan Jacob

[bugs:#91] JMask Object: Random Parameter
Status: open Created: Sun Dec 29, 2013 08:52 PM UTC by Jan Jacob Hofmann Last Updated: Sun Dec 29, 2013 08:52 PM UTC Owner: nobody
This report refers to the JMask SoundObject: The parameter type "Random " supports just a "," as a decimal point, not a ".", while all the other parameter-types work well with a "." as a decimal point. It would be great, if I could use a point there like in the other parameter settings.

Hi Jan Jacob,
I am going to assume that the bug is fixed and will close this ticket. It's a shame about 10.6 and the older Java. For precision, is there a ticket? If not, could you file one with details? I'll look at it for a future release then.
Otherwise, very excited to see your new system! All best!
steven
Dear Steven,
I am not sure what you do mean with a ticket about the Java and 10.6. Should I file a ticket at the blue feature-requests? Would that mean, that you might be able to do something about it? I thought the Java-support of Mac OSX is beyond our control... I'd be glad to file a ticket, If I just knew where :-)
All the best,
Jan Jacob

Oh, I was referring to the precision issue you asked about and Jmask. I don't think there's anything to be done for Java and OSX 10.6 unfortunately.

Dear Steven,
now I see...I just created a feature request regarding "precision".
All the best,
