it is better to only see those guidelines when moving the Object(s) is involved. This provides the user with the visual feedback needed to drop selected Objects on the correct place, ans so the guidelines are informational, but when Objects are selected only i think the guidelines become screen clutter (together with already present ALs) and have no informational value; when Objects are selected they are sufficiently and adequately highlighted and they have the black stripe.
