Preview of results:
Especially for the images, it would be great to have an inline preview, presenting the image in large size (I assume currently it is opened in a new tab?). Maybe you could show them in a fancybox popup? For the images a coverflow implementation would probably be nice, but I guess this won't work out with the document results. As far as I remember, Mendeley and ZBW provide support for SSL on the results, hence it should be possible to show them in a fancybox within the page as well (Might require to rewrite the result urls from http:// to https://).
The fancybox was quite appreciated in an earlier version of the EEXCESS extension (had to switch to opening in a new tab, because not all results could be retrieved via SSL) and hence I would consider it as added value.
Not sure were to put these, so I'm just creating a new issue, you may create separate ones or add it to existing ones accordingly....
Query on selection: It would be great to have a context menu, in which the user can decide what to do with the selection (see http://rawgit.com/EEXCESS/c4/feature/selectionAugmentation/examples/searchBar_Paragraphs/index.html for example). Otherwise, a search might be triggered unintentionally when the user just wants to copy&paste something.
